PhysioPhilosophy Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Policy
1. Purpose and Scope
PhysioPhilosophy is committed to providing high-quality, professional physiotherapy services that are accessible to all. We are committed to creating a culture of respect and understand and recognise the value of individual diversity. This policy helps us to achieve this vision and avoid discrimination in any form ensuring that no patient, staff member, or visitor experiences discrimination, harassment, or victimisation, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
2. Commitment to Equality
We are committed to:
- Accessible Care: Ensuring our services and premises are as accessible as possible. We will make “reasonable adjustments” for disabled patients to access our services.
- Fair Treatment: Treating all patients with dignity, respect, and fairness, ensuring tailored treatment plans based on individual needs.
- Non-Discrimination: Operating a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, bullying, or harassment.
3. Inclusive Practice & Communication
- Patient Communication: We strive to communicate in a way that is accessible to all, respecting diverse backgrounds and cultural needs.
- Respectful Environment: We value diversity in our patients and staff, fostering a welcoming, safe, and inclusive atmosphere.
- Language Services: While not legally required for sole practitioners to provide interpreters, we aim to be as inclusive as possible. If a patient requires an interpreter, we will discuss options to facilitate this, such as enabling them to bring their own (e.g., a family member or signer).
